The Beacon is a three-layer shell with a 30K waterproof / 25K breathability rating and fully taped seams. It has no insulation listed, so plan your midlayer around the day's temperature. The adjustable powder skirt and jacket-to-pant attachment help close the gap when the snow gets deep.
Lycra wrist gaiters sit inside the cuffs, while a sleeve pass pocket and goggle pocket handle the small stuff. A YKK Aquaguard zipper, brushed chin guard and adjustable hem finish the setup. Use Dakine's size chart and allow room for your usual winter layers.
